Protesters are gathering in front of "Tesla" dealerships across the United States on Saturday in a demonstration against the actions of the company's CEO Elon Musk and his push for cuts to federal spending supporting President Donald Trump. These protests are occurring against the backdrop of growing reaction in North America and Europe against Musk's wielding influence in Washington.
Trump and Musk's critics hope to halt and block the acquisition operation of "Tesla," the world's largest automaker by market capitalization. Musk is leading an unprecedented campaign to cut federal government regulations, which has led to the layoffs of thousands of workers and the cessation of federal grants and leases.
Police arrested 9 people during the loud protest outside the company’s office in New York. Hundreds of people participated in one of the ongoing protests under the slogan "Save Tesla," organized nationwide against Musk.
The groups protesting also gathered in front of "Tesla" dealerships in Jacksonville, Florida, in Tucson, Arizona, and other cities, blocking traffic, chanting slogans and holding signs reading "Save Tesla: Save Democracy" and "Against Tyranny in the United States."
